Statcast makes its television debut during tonight’s MLB Network game between the Cardinals and Nationals. The clips I’ve seen are spectacular. I’m most interested in the fielding data.
Statcast tracking:
- Pitching – Release, extension, Velocity, Perceived velocity, Spin rate
- Hitting – Exit velocity, Launch angle, Vector, Hang time, Hit distance, Projected HR distance
- Baserunning – Lead distance, Secondary Lead, First step, Stealing first step, Acceleration, Max speed, Dig speed, Extra bases, Home run trot
- Fielding – First step, First step efficiency, Max speed, Acceleration (outfield), Total distance, Arm strength, Exchange, Pop time, Pivot, Route efficiency (outfield)
